The Professors

During 2007 there are two courses in Trompe L'oeil

One begins in February and the other begins in August. Both are the same and run for between five and seven weeks, At the end of the first five weeks the students form teams and use their skills to create a Trompe L'oeil panoramic on the walls of the atelier. Two weeks are allocated for this project.

The course explains the techniques of panoramic painting and Trompe L'oeil. You will work to large sizes (murals) as well as small. It includes fresco techniques, explains perspective and demonstrates it in use. You will learn to make your own paints from pigments and oils, make egg tempera and learn the techniques of working with it, make use of marbling techniques, paint stone, marble and landscapes.

All techniques are clearly demonstrated in a very easy to follow manner.

The dates and contents of the courses are described below.

On completion of the course there is a project which lasts between one and two weeks. The class members will team up in groups. Each group will chose a project theme and create a Trompe L'oeil on the walls of the atelier. The
teams work at their own pace and use their new skills with no supervision unless it is asked for.
